This is a functional antique reproduction brass balance scale in a hardwood box. Whether it is used for weighing or admired for its beauty, it makes an elegant addition to an office or workplace. The scale's components, weight set, and tweezers all fit neatly inside the scale's velvet-lined drawer, and the scale can be set up in less than a minute. A divider in the drawer separates the weight set from the scale mechanism. The scale has a certified 200-gram (7 ounces) capacity and comes complete with a 14-piece weight set.
Normally the two brass weighing bowls rest on the wood case. Pressing the lever on the scale lifts the entire balance assembly allowing measurement with minimal disturbance to the balance. A needle indicates when the weights of the two bowl's contents are equal.
The balance scale comes with a large 14-piece weight set and a pair of tweezers. The weights measure 20 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg, 200 mg, 500 mg, 1 gm, two 2 gm, 5 gm, two 10 gm, 20 gm, 50 gm, and 100 gm.
