    Great Scale

This was a great scale for the money. I was surprised by how small it was but it holds a lot of weight.

From 0.1g to 1kg is a pretty large range for this small scale. I love the fact that the cover is the weighing dish, it protects the scale when not in use, and stores nicely. Small enough to fit in your shirt pocket. Great for counting spoke nipples when wheel building, or for weighing high alpha acid hop additions for making beer.

The small dish would not be good for weighing out large quantities of a low density substance, e.g. I wouldn’t want to weigh out a pound of flour on it.

    0.2 gram accuracy

I received this scale in the mail today. It was shipped promptly. It is smaller than I imagined, small enough to fit into a shirt pocket. The weighing platform will hold a paper cup but not anything much bigger. The batteries are included. A thin plastic strip must be removed from the battery compartment before using. I used a set of gram calibration weights from my long-ago college chemistry class to test the unit. At first I was impressed. The digital readout said 1.0 with a 1 gram test weight, 10.0 with a 10 gram test weight, and 50.0 with a 50 gram test weight (my largest). Then I tried weights less than one gram. I was disappointed that the scale read 0.1 less than the actual weight. For instance, the scale read 0.6 with 0.7 test weight. I then tried the 1 gram weight again and it read 0.9. So the accuracy is plus or minus 0.1 gram. For instance, if the scale reads 7.2 grams, the actual weight could be anywhere from 7.1 to 7.3 grams. This is close enough for my application. I did not expect a highly accurate scale for $21. The unit shuts off after 1 minute unless you add or remove weight. That is an annoying feature but it is easy to turn the scale back on. There is a calibrate button that requires a 500 gram weight (not included). A mode button chooses units: grams, ounces, etc. A tare button zeros the readout. There is also a button for counting pieces. This scale will be satisfactory for my occasional use.

    Best scale for the money

Buying a scale can be a real waste of money if it turns out to be inaccurate, but at the same time you don’t want to pay a lot of money if you don’t have to. Granted, you get what you pay for, but this scale is cheaply priced and I’ve found it to be very accurate. I’m quite pleased and would buy again if need be.

Great little device. Accurate. Small enough to store in drawer. I can take it with me easily.

I use this scale for measuring engine parts (rods, pistons, etc…) to closely balance weights. This scale is very accurate, and I’ve tested it against more expensive scales and found it to be dead on. For the price, it can’t be beat!
